Owner and Founder of Q'enko Organic Cuisine
Maria Verdezoto, a resident of New Jersey, is the founder and owner of Q’enko Organic Cuisine located at 68 Washington St, Bloomfield, NJ 07003. Maria was inspired to bring her rich Hispanic culture and unique flavors to her local New Jersey community. Her experience in the restaurant industry for over 15 years fully prepared her to efficiently operate and establish the restaurant of her dreams. Q’enko’s restaurant embodies Peruvian culture and provides a space where guests can enjoy and feel welcomed. Maria said “I’m very thankful to showcase our very own authentic Peruvian food that is truly crafted with love and care.”
She describes her restaurant experience as coming into someone’s home and enjoying a meal prepared just for you.
Q’enko Organic Cuisine provides a unique twist on Peruvian and American cuisine. Maria wants to immerse her guests in the unique biodiversity of Peru through highlighting special ingredients and flavors in her restaurant's food. Frank Bucco Jr. and Jennifer DenBoer opened Bucco Italian Kitchen in Bloomfield, New Jersey back in April 2019, ten months prior to Covid. Bucco’s serves delicious Italian and American food with an “eclectic flair.” Frank’s dream to open Bucco Italian Kitchen was inspired by his involvement in the restaurant business for almost his entire life. As residents of Bloomfield, Frank and Jennifer’s goal of opening up Bucco is "to bring upscale food with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to downtown Bloomfield."
Like most restaurants during the pandemic, Bucco had to transform their “upscale, casual sit down restaurant into a takeout restaurant overnight.” They faced many obstacles and challenges, but their hard work paid off and helped them pull through the Pandemic. The support from the Bloomfield community during Covid was also a huge contributing factor of success for Bucco Italian Restaurant: “Bloomfield has made a positive impact on us and we hope to do the same in the future.”
Bucco Italian Restaurant joined Bloomfield’s Best Holiday Guide because they’re “excited about the exposure from our guide” and to be a part of another positive Bloomfield initiative. Small businesses like Bucco Italian Kitchen help to build up the booming Bloomfield, New Jersey community. Along with dedicated owners like Frank Bucco Jr. and Jennifer DenBoer, who add the welcoming attitude and charm that every small town needs to thrive.
Bene is the present- day owner of tasty Italia’s Pizzeria and Restaurant located in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Italia Pizzeria started in 1996 and Bene took it over solely in 2001. The inspiration behind the delicious pizzeria came from the dream of providing Classic and Traditional Italian Cuisine. Bene is happy to provide the Bloomfield Community with his savory pizza and delicious Italian dishes. The Covid -19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the business industry in the U.S. Many small businesses in the New Jersey area took a hit, including Italia’s Pizzeria and Restaurant. Bene said “The Covid-19 pandemic was a bumpy ride for us but we were able to survive it.”
Despite the impact Covid-19 had on Italia’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, Bene still did his best to support and serve the Bloomfield Community by providing great food. Bene decided to join Bloomfield’s Best Holiday Guide because as a restaurant in the community; he believed in the goals of Bloomfield’s Best Holiday Guide. Bene said “we feel that the goals of Bloomfield’s Best Holiday align with our mission to partner and support the Bloomfield Community.” It is suitable to say small business owners like Bene add a special presence to the Bloomfield, New Jersey area.
